Here it is September 2nd,

and I'm already infusing my water with apples and cinnamon

and throwing nutmeg, in addition to cinnamon,

into my coffee in the morning.

But it's STILL so hot and summery out

and I honestly can't believe

I didn't go sit on the beach all day.

No, I sat around and made yummy food

and watched the U.S. Open all day.

And I planned.

Planned what we were all going to have for dinner tonight.

ALL OF US.

Husband, Son 1, Son 2 and Son 3.

And what a dinner I planned!

A dinner I ended up eating ALL.BY.MYSELF.

Husband blew us off to go fishing.

Son 1 didn't feel like driving home from Boston.

Son 2 went out to party party {big surprise}....

and Son 3 just spent the whole day spear fishing

and is apparently going to sleep through the night.

So I guess they'll eat it all tomorrow?

And I will go sit on the beach and NOT plan dinner.

Speaking of smiling...

My colorful dinner made me SMILE.

STEAK in general makes me SMILE,

but the corn salsa really was like a cherry on top.

Too bad they missed it.
